A LITTLE CLARITY BEFORE THE DARK
Your questions, answered.
Planning your first ghost hunt or joining us for another investigation? Here you'll find answers to some of the most common questions about our events, what to expect and how to prepare for an evening exploring the unexplained.
Is there a minimum age?
Our ghost hunts are for guests aged 18 and over. Proof of age may be requested on arrival.
Are the venues accessible?
Many of the historic locations we investigate have stairs, uneven floors and areas with limited lighting. Accessibility varies between venues. If you have mobility difficulties or particular access requirements, please contact us before booking so we can discuss the venue and any arrangements that may be possible.
Are refreshments provided?
At most of our venues, we provide complimentary tea, coffee, cordial and biscuits during breaks throughout the evening. Refreshment facilities may vary depending on the location, so please check the information for your chosen event.
When and where should I arrive?
Arrival instructions and the venue address will be provided in your event information. For our Prospect House ghost hunt on Friday 11 December 2026, doors open at 7:30 PM, with the investigation beginning at 8:00 PM and finishing at approximately 2:00 AM.
Please arrive promptly to allow time for registration and the introductory briefing.
Can I cancel or receive a refund?
Tickets are generally non-refundable if you are unable to attend, except where required by law. If we cancel an event, a full refund will be provided. If an event is rescheduled, you'll be offered the choice of attending the new date or receiving a refund. Ticket transfers may be arranged with prior notification to the organiser, provided the replacement guest meets the event requirements.
Please review the full ticket terms before booking.
What if an event is cancelled?
If we need to cancel an event, ticket holders will be contacted using the details provided at booking and offered a full refund. If an event is rescheduled, you'll be given the option of attending the new date or receiving a refund.
How do I book tickets?
Use the booking button on the event listing. It takes you directly to the secure Tickts event page, where you can review the current ticket information and complete your booking. This website does not take payments.
Will we experience paranormal activity?
Every investigation is different, and paranormal activity can never be guaranteed. Our events offer the opportunity to explore fascinating locations, investigate reported experiences and discover what, if anything, the night may bring.
Will I get to investigate with Phil?
Yes. Guests are divided into smaller groups that rotate between investigation areas during approximately 45-minute vigils. The rotation is organised so that everyone has the opportunity to investigate alongside Phil during the evening.
Do I have to take part in every activity?
Absolutely not. All activities are entirely voluntary, including the use of Ouija boards where offered. You can observe, decline an activity or step away at any time.
What is free time?
During the final hour of the event, guests have the opportunity to investigate independently, without direct supervision from the team. Free time is restricted to areas approved for guest access, and venue safety rules continue to apply.
Can I bring my own paranormal investigation equipment?
Yes, you're welcome to bring your own paranormal investigation equipment, including EMF meters, digital voice recorders and other commonly used investigation devices. We will also provide equipment for guests to use throughout the evening, so there's no need to purchase anything beforehand.
We simply ask that any personal equipment is used responsibly and does not interfere with other guests, the investigation or the venue. Please check with Phil or one of the team leaders before using any equipment that may affect others or requires special arrangements.
Is smoking or vaping permitted?
Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited inside all venues during our ghost hunting events.
Guests wishing to smoke or vape may do so during designated breaks, but only in outdoor areas where the venue permits it. Please dispose of cigarette ends responsibly and respect the venue, its grounds and other guests.
Smoking or vaping during investigations is not permitted.
