BEFORE THE NIGHT BEGINS

Come curious. Come prepared.

Whether you're joining your first ghost hunt or have investigated the paranormal for years, you're welcome to come along. Hosted by Phil Whyman and his team, each event offers the opportunity to explore an atmospheric location, discover its history and take an active part in an evening of paranormal investigation.

01 / The evening

Your evening begins with a welcome from Phil Whyman and his investigation team, followed by an introduction to the location, its history and reported paranormal activity.

Guests will then be divided into smaller groups, each supervised by Phil or one of his experienced team leaders.

Throughout the evening, you'll take part in a series of paranormal investigation vigils, each lasting approximately 45 minutes, with a short break between sessions.

Groups will rotate between different areas of the building, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to investigate each designated location and, importantly, spend time ghost hunting alongside Phil himself.

During the final hour, we'll introduce 'free time', when guests can investigate independently, without direct supervision, within the areas made available for the event.

Whether you're attending your first ghost hunt or have years of experience, the evening is designed to give everyone the opportunity to explore, investigate and form their own opinions about the unexplained.

02 / Equipment and activities

Throughout the evening, you'll have the opportunity to explore different paranormal investigation techniques and experience some of the methods used to investigate reported activity. Activities may include the use of paranormal investigation equipment, traditional investigative methods and, for those who wish to take part, Ouija boards and seances.

Phil and his team will guide guests through the activities, explaining the methods involved and encouraging everyone to make their own observations.

Participation in every activity is entirely voluntary. You're always welcome to observe rather than take part, and nobody will ever be pressured into doing anything they feel uncomfortable with.

03 / Clothing and what to bring

We recommend comfortable clothing and sensible footwear suitable for exploring historic buildings, including stairs and potentially uneven surfaces. Some venues can be cold, even indoors, so bringing an extra layer is advisable. A torch is also advisable if you have one.

At most locations, we'll provide complimentary tea, coffee, cordial and biscuits during the evening's breaks. Refreshment arrangements may vary depending on the venue, so please check your event information for details.

You're welcome to bring any personal essentials you may need, and we recommend reading your booking confirmation for venue-specific guidance before attending.

04 / Sharing the experience

Ghost hunting is as much about sharing experiences as it is about investigating. Whether you're a believer, a sceptic or simply curious, we encourage an open mind and respect for different opinions. Everyone is welcome to participate at their own comfort level. You can choose which activities you'd like to join, simply observe, or step away from an activity at any time. We ask all guests to respect one another, follow the investigation team's guidance and treat each location with care.

05 / Access and suitability

Many of the historic buildings we investigate have uneven floors, staircases and limited accessibility. If you have mobility concerns or specific requirements, please contact us before booking so we can advise you about the particular venue. Any age restrictions will be stated in the individual event details.
